Happy Birthday, Eden

A year ago I held this little piece of heaven in my arms…

And now she is walking, and babbling, and full of life, and we love her dearly…
even though she didn’t know she was supposed to be happy for her 1 year photo shoot.
It’s a good thing she happens to be a cute ornery baby. Not a lot of people can pull off a cute cry.

And a little behind the scenes shot.
It’s pretty red neck. We just moved the kitchen table, swept up a few crumbs (perhaps more than a few), and laid out some flooring.We used direct natural lighting coming from our french doors. Camera info: shot with Canon 50D & 24-70mm lens. ISO 200, SS 1/125, AV 2.8

A special thanks to my friend who made the adorable banner and cake… and who also ended up getting more frosting on herself than Eden did. It’s all about sacrificing to get the perfect picture

Slow Moving

This last week was a crazy one, that’s for sure. My baby was in the hospital for a nasty kidney infection. I’ve kind of put life on hold right now which includes cooking, cleaning, dressing, showering… (and really anything that requires effort) in order to focus on my babe and get her feeling better. Unfortunately, that includes editing. I will get to everything soon enough (including showering, my husbands probably the most excited about this one). In the meantime, thank you so much for your patience.

It’s been way to long since my last post. So long that I almost forgot my own password to this blog.
I’ve been busy mostly being a mom doing, you know, mom stuff. It’s a glamorous life, but someone has to do it.

My Baby Eden

(I’m a little bit lame. This is a repost from my personal blog. Sorry for the repeat)

Your looking at 6 months of love right here.
This little babe has brought so much peace and joy into our home since she’s joined us.

She’s a very calm and mild mannered baby…
definitely her fathers girl.
She doesn’t laugh and she doesn’t really talk,
but she squeals with excitement
and she hyperventilates at the site of us.
She’s a funny one, she is.
Her favorite thing to do is hold our hands.
I’ve never had a baby like that.
She’s like a little chinese finger trap…
except the American baby version of it.
Once she’s got a hold of you there’s no letting go.
We love her lots (and that’s an understatement).
