For those not familiar with Photoshop actions—in Photoshop, there are a series of steps a photographer performs when editing an image or enhancing a photo. These tasks may include editing curves, levels, etc. Performing each of these steps for photo editing in Photoshop can be very time consuming and also require a fairly good understanding on how to use Photoshop curves, levels, etc.
In order to save time, a photographer can record a series of steps in Photoshop, which are called Photoshop actions, that can be played back later on a single image or multiple images; thus a Photoshop action can save time for image editing and even eliminate the need to learn about Photoshop tools, such as using curves, when the action is played in Photoshop by another individual.
