May 29th, 2009I Kissed my kids on the head,
told them to have fun, make memories and not contract any waterborne diseases,
and then I sent them out the door to play in the rain.

Gutter modeling. Ever heard of it?

I love the rain, but mostly I love watching my children play in it; soaking up the pure joy in life.
thanks for the perfect idea- we have had a lot of rain lately and are expecting more- love the pics- what fun they sure had- why didn’t you join in the fun girl?
I love these pictures. I have been wanting to take some puddle splashing pictures of my boys too. I am wondering what compelled Abrie to sit in the water, haha! That last picture is SO cute.
loved the red toe nails in the one..most of been your way of getting in on the fun!
we love to let our kids do this also..but it’s too cold still!
You know what’s funny, is that I left my toes showing on purpose simply becaused I loved it that way. I’m glad you noticed and liked it too
Oh how fun!! I love these. Makes me miss the carefree days of childhood!!
Very cute pictures!! I also love the shot of Abrie sitter right in the gutter. Its nice that you have such cute kids to shoot.
Way cute and so fun. What a nice Mom.
Looks like a good time was had by all!
Love the splashing feet, awesome shot!
These are freaking adorable
I love them all.
D
uh, you kill me with your talent woman. i love looking at your blog for inspiration, and i like your quirkiness too:) i love your photos, always!
when you said “gutter modeling. ever heard of it?” i thought you were referring to the picture above it. i laughed. then i scrolled down and realized you were talking about the picture below it, and it was that much cuter. what cute kids you have, too. seriously.
I did the same thing yesterday with my kiddos! I think my neighbors thought I was out of my mind to let them “swim” in the gutter! Cute pictures as always!
Thank you so much for checking out my blog and photos! Your blog is beautiful as are your pictures!
seriously playing in the rain is one of the most fun things to do. It’s sad that I too now have that first thought germs thought haha
Ginnie – I love them!!! They’re all darling (but of course you know that – you’re their mom!) Anyway – great job!!!!
You are incredible. Did you use a particular action for that second pic that has kind of a faded 70’s look to it? If so… I would love to get my hands on it…
You have inspired me for months and I just now got up the courage to ask you a question. So here it goes… What lens did you use to take these pictures? They are stunning. And you know that all of your pics are stunning. Pieces of art!!!
Hey Amanda,
These were all shot with my 24-70mm canon lens. Hope that helps!
